I was wondering if there was a list of the best ranked music colleges in america. I personally play guitar. and i know about berklee. But i need to know some more for college applications. thanks guys

A better solution would be to dump YouTube altogether. Why use YouTube to help them advertise their website with your media content unless they have you on their Christmas list? You can upload video, music, send Video email, send Video podcast, do Video Broadcast, Media Storage vaults, even pay-per-view movies if you want – plus it has all the regular functions of Outlook but online – and everything you upload or send takes people to YOUR site not YouTubes. Plus it support media in over 100 formats for non-techies like me. OK –I’m biased – but it’s what I use and its dirt cheap. Well, in order to know how to play chords, you need to learn the basic chords!
Here is a list of chords you will mainly encounter in most sheet music (from "simplest" to "hardest"):
I will graph an example of each: the chords will go like this = EADGBe
X means don’t play the string
1. Major chords (Ex: G) 355433

Hello, I’d like a list of what songs should be perfected by the time you gain entrance into top music colleges, and if you have the time, could you name some optional pieces that could be learned that is expected at this time, that would be fantastic..Thank you!!
I’d say you need to be able to handle Bach Preludes and Fugues (and maybe even Bach Toccatas); Chopin preludes; Beethoven, Mozart and Haydn sonatas, and contemporary composers like Barber.
I was a piano major in college (I went to Boston University). It’s really impossible to say what you should play for your audition. If you haven’t mastered Bach Preludes and Fugues, however, I’d strongly suggest you consider another major for college (rarely have I heard piano majors playing sinfonias at the university level). Of course make sure you can play all scales and arpeggios in parallel and contrary motion, in thirds and fifths.
When I went to college I’d already played several Bach Preludes and Fugues, Beethoven’s "Waldstein" sonata; 2 Mozart Concertos and 1 Beethoven Concerto (the B flat) and had won several regional piano competitions. I went to a fine arts high school though, so I’m sure most colleges wouldn’t expect that.
Just be sure to have a piece from each genre that challenges you, but that you know you will be able to play really well for the audition. Difficulty means nothing if you don’t play the piece well.

I’m in my undergrad for a bachelor’s in music education, and I’m trying to set myself a goal for my master’s. What are the top ranked music schools in the US for an MA in music education, or just known for music in general? I’ve been told of the Julliard School, Eastman, and IU. Are there any others ranked with or above these?
